Saved Search

A feature that allows Analysts to conduct the same searches more easily. After all, who has the time to input the same information over and over?

Problem

When Analysts use filters to conduct their searches, they have to input all that data every single time. For a certain period of time, analysts conduct the same search. Having to fill in a high number of input boxes every single say is a frustrating experience.

Solution

Design a solution that allows Analysts to save specific searches.

Project requirements

Colab with the PM and Devs to align on the scope and project requirements.

User flow

A comprehensive user flow to streamline the task the user needs to complete among different pages.

Ideation and wireframes

Searching for inspiration, doing peer design sessions & designing prototypes to come up with the best solution.

Final designs #1:
Alerts page

Analysts can switch between latest and saved searches, remove, save and un-save searches, as well as use the input boxes to conduct an even more specific search.

Final designs #2:
Search by Event page

The experience is the same as stated above. The main difference is that since this is already a search page, a "Save" button was added in order for Analysts to be able to save the search immediately.

Design hand-off
with devs

Given that this new feature required designing new components, it was important to provide the dev team with detailed specs.
